CNN —Former UFC star Mark Coleman is “battling for his life” after saving his parents from a house fire in Ohio on Tuesday, his daughter said on Instagram. Morgan Coleman wrote that her father went back and forth into the house and was able to carry both of his parents from the fire and save their lives, before attempting to rescue a dog, Hammer, from the blaze. CNN has reached out to the Toledo Police, Fire Department and Coleman’s manager for comment for more details about the house fire and the former UFC fighter’s condition. He is and always will be a fighter,” Coleman’s daughter wrote. Coleman’s longtime friend and fellow former UFC fighter Wes Sims said on Facebook that Coleman is “currently intubated & sedated” in a hospital in Toledo, Ohio.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Twenty-four Republican-led states filed a lawsuit Wednesday challenging a new Biden administration rule that sets tougher standards for deadly soot pollution. The EPA rule “will drive jobs and investment out of Kentucky and overseas, leaving employers and hardworking families to pay the price,” Coleman said. The soot rule is one of several EPA dictates under attack from industry groups and Republican-led states. Soot pollution has declined by 42% since 2000, even as the U.S. gross domestic product has increased by 52%, Regan said. The EPA said it will work with states, counties and tribes to account for and respond to wildfires, an increasing source of soot pollution, especially in the West.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A school bus crashed over an embankment and landed on its side Monday morning in rural Kentucky, sending the driver and 18 children to hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to severe, authorities said Monday. Students from elementary age through high school were aboard the bus en route to classes when the crash occurred on a state highway near Salyersville in eastern Kentucky, said Superintendent Chris Meadows of Magoffin County Schools.
